Woo Hoo

December 2014-

We put the following message up right after the 2014 election night.  Although that was a long time ago, and much has happened since then, I thought it is appropriate to keep this message for the re-election campaign.  It is a reminder of the goals and visions we had when we began this journey, and those goals and principles are  still the basis for seeking re-election.  Much has been done to foster and preserve the rule of law, which is essential for our community and state, and there is much yet to do for that purpose.  I will appreciate your help in continuing that journey and mission:

We won, and Kit and I want to thank you for your support and encouragement. I say “we won,” because so many friends worked tirelessly to make this possible. This has sincerely been a humbling experience, and we cannot begin to express our appreciation for all that each of you have done for us.

Leaving Gardere Wynne Sewell, LLP, which has been my professional home for more than thirty two years, will be bittersweet. It is a great firm, and I will leave with wonderful memories and friendships.

But, it will also be an honor and privilege to serve Texas and all of the citizens of Dallas, Collin, Grayson, Rockwall, Kaufman, and Hunt Counties. Texas is a wonderful state and wonderful state of mind. Not only will serving on the Court of Appeals be a great honor, but it will be a great responsibility. There will be much to do to ensure that justice is served blindly, equally, and efficiently and to ensure that the rule of law and our fundamental governing principles are protected. I look forward to accepting these responsibilities and serving with humility and integrity.

Thank you all for putting your trust and confidence in us. We will not let you down. Please keep in touch.

Bill and Kit
