Bill is a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
They settled in Dallas, and he graduated in 1982 from SMU Law School cum laude (with honors) and a member of the Order of the Coif national legal honor society. Three days later he joined the Gardere & Wynne law firm (now Foley & Lardner LLP), became a partner in that firm in 1989 where he worked his entire private practice legal career handling a broad range of litigation, appeals, and arbitrations. Bill has been consistently involved in professional and community activities.

Bill and Kit have three wonderful children. Ben graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the SMU Dedman School of Law and practices law in Dallas where he lives. Ben and his wife Molly have a daughter, Adelynn,and son, Barrett. Caroline teaches first grade in Coppell at the elementary school she grew up in. She is married to John Oswald, a construction superintendent. Callie and John have a son, Luke. Will is a Senior Consultant for Deloitte US, performing strategic planning at Deloitte’s University career center in Westlake, Texas. His wife Heather is an organ transplant nurse at Methodist Dallas Hospital.
Bill and Kit have lived in their Coppell home for more than twenty-seven years and are members of and volunteers at Valley Ranch Baptist Church. Bill has participated in Bible Study Fellowship for fifteen years. Kit is a community volunteer and an in-school supervisor at Coppell Middle School East. She enjoys tennis and pilates when she is not mentoring her students or engaged in her many volunteer activities.
Bill is a dedicated father and grandfather who coached youth soccer and basketball and participated with his children in the YMCA Indian Guides and Princesses programs. Bill enjoyed many hours at baseball, basketball, lacrosse, football, and soccer games and cross country and track meets. He likes running, tennis, sailing, hunting, and college sports. He is passionate about his faith, family, and Texas.
